More than ever, women need HOPE; HOPE that God truly loves them as they are, HOPE that He is the One who can heal them in the places they long to be healed and HOPE that the painful circumstances they face can be used to bring them closer to the One who cares more than anyone. Debbie’s messages will bring this kind of hope. She is honest with women. Sharing personal experiences from her own life and truths from God’s Word, she will touch your heart by God’s Spirit and cause you to…HOPE again! Debbie lives with her husband Randy in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. She has three grown children and three grandchildren. Debbie led women’s Bible studies and seminars for 21 years before she began her speaking ministry. For the last 14 years she has been speaking at women's retreats and conferences throughout Ontario and Quebec . She is on staff at Lincoln Road Chapel, her own home church in Waterloo, as the Pastor of Community Care. She is the author of "You Don't Have to be Perfect" - a collection of short stories from Debbie's personal life that depict a variety of imperfections that have been turned into life lessons. Her messages are marked with comfort, inspiration and oftentimes humour. Coming from a past of brokenness, she understands and relates to a wide variety of women. Whether it is drug addiction, depression, struggles in your marriage, pain in raising teenagers or the various losses we face in life, Debbie will hold out understanding as well as practical help in knowing how to walk through it. Experiencing the healing and deliverance of Jesus Christ has made her life a testimony of grace, bringing hope to women young and old. “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast…” Hebrews 6:19
Memory/Testimony from One of Debbie’s Retreats
Written by Monique Roussos, B.S.W., Montreal, Quebec I have been blessed to attend two of the women’s retreat weekends that Debbie spoke at in Quebec. There is no doubt in my mind that God has equipped this woman, through His changing power, to be a vessel through which He can heal broken hearts and minds.
The first time I heard Debbie speak, I was hurting inside and not at all interested in getting around the walls that I had purposefully set up for the weekend. I found myself digging my nails in trying not to cry. Debbie has a very honest and open way of sharing herself. One feels that she isn’t talking to a group but to you alone. She is witty, humble, animated and captivating.
God has gifted this woman with a depth and a wisdom that only someone who has been through many storms can possess. I believe this may be the reason why people are so drawn to her. In relating to the suffering we all go through, she testifies to the reality of God’s love and faithfulness through it all. I left hopeful, challenged and ever so thankful for a God who cares!
Testimonial from One of Debbie’s Retreats
Written by Deb Mertin, Certified Coach at Ministry Advantage "Transparent, authentic and so very personable are words that I would use to describe Debbie’s ministry to women. Her spiritual markers in life have transformed this woman into an incredible instrument of grace, and through the valleys in life she has found a solid foundation in Christ alone. Debbie’s life experience and foundational teaching from the scripture impacts the hearts of women in ways that most speakers are unable to do. We have had Debbie speak at women’s retreats and at seeker events where for the first time women can witness the life of a woman who has not only found hope but incredible.peace. A relational speaker that can cut through the hurts and will leave a lasting impression on the lives she touches."
